About Premium Restoration
Premium Restoration is a busy and growing restoration company based in Delta, BC. We provide emergency water, fire, and property restoration services to residential, commercial, strata, and institutional clients throughout the Lower Mainland.
We are looking for a Water Damage Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with restoration experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of getting to site quickly, doing the job properly, and keeping the client and Project Manager informed.
The Position
As a Water Damage Technician, you will be responsible for responding to water damage losses, completing mitigation work, setting up and monitoring drying equipment, documenting site conditions, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
You will work closely with Project Managers, other technicians, and subcontractors to ensure each loss is handled efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response
- Respond to emergency water damage calls and arrive at site within required company response times.
- Assess the source and extent of the water damage.
- Complete site safety assessments before beginning work.
- Communicate site conditions and immediate concerns to the Project Manager.
Assessment & Documentation
- Complete detailed moisture inspections using moisture meters and other restoration equipment.
- Take clear and comprehensive photographs of affected areas and work completed.
- Document moisture readings, equipment placement, demolition, contents, and daily progress.
- Maintain accurate job notes and time records.
- Ensure documentation meets company and insurance claim requirements.
Water Extraction & Drying
- Perform water extraction using truck mounts, portable extractors, pumps, and other equipment.
- Set up air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and other drying equipment.
- Monitor and document drying progress.
- Adjust equipment as required to achieve appropriate drying goals.
- Complete equipment inventory, cleaning, and maintenance.
Demolition & Cleaning
- Complete controlled demolition of affected building materials as required.
- Remove damaged materials and debris.
- Complete cleaning and sanitizing of affected areas.
- Assist with contents handling, moving, packing, and protection when required.
- Follow all company procedures for disposal of damaged materials.
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, property managers, strata representatives, and other clients.
- Explain the mitigation process and what clients can expect.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing Premium Restoration.
- Treat customers' homes and businesses with care and respect.
Teamwork & Job Support
- Work closely with Project Managers and other technicians.
- Assist subcontractors and other trades when required.
- Help maintain an organized warehouse, vehicles, and equipment inventory.
- Perform other restoration-related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of restoration experience preferred.
- IICRC WRT certification required.
- Additional IICRC certifications are considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience with moisture meters, air movers, dehumidifiers, extractors, and other restoration equipment.
- Strong understanding of water damage mitigation and drying procedures.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and job scopes.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to emergency situations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment and materials.
- Ability to work for extended periods while standing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and other difficult-to-access areas.
- Ability to work at heights when required.
- Comfortable working in wet, damp, dirty, and variable conditions.
- Able to safely operate restoration equipment and hand tools.
Schedule & On-Call
Restoration is an emergency-response business, and flexibility is required.
- Full-time position.
- On-call rotation approximately one week per month.
- Evening, weekend, and after-hours emergency response may be required.
- Ability to respond to emergency calls within company-required response times.
- Overtime may be available depending on workload and emergency response requirements.
