The position is responsible for providing expert legal counsel and support for administrative, regulatory, and disciplinary processes involved in regulating the financial services sectors (e.g., litigation, hearings, and judicial review of complex issues).
Researches and provides legal opinions on issues, cases, and ethical conflicts that may have implications for the Crown, stakeholders, consumers, and/or the public.
Researches and assesses legal trends and emerging issues and provides expert, timely, and practical legal advice, support, and counsel on impacts.
Manages litigation and represents the corporation during legal proceedings, court appearances, lawsuits, and other legal matters.
Contributes to the team’s development of internal work practices (e.g., policies, procedures, and tools).
Law Degree, a member of the Law Society of BC, and significant experience with litigation and administrative law processes, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
