As a Junior Estimator, you will serve as a vital link between our active field construction projects and our long-term client monitoring partnerships. In this role, you will play a crucial part in organizing and executing sector-specific initiatives that drive commercial project sales and help us hit our targets. Working closely with clients, consultants, and our project delivery team, you will learn to manage quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and bid management.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Technical Analysis
- Blueprint Proficiency: Read and comprehend project specifications, architectural drawings, and blueprints to provide high-quality, accurate estimates.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost estimations required to execute projects successfully according to proposals and plans.
- Software Utilization: Leverage estimating software, AutoCAD, and Excel to analyze data and build competitive bids.
Project Coordination & Delivery
- Field Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule field staff, ensuring teams are aligned and deadlines are strictly adhered to.
- Agility: Respond effectively to last-minute requests and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, active construction environment.
Client Services & Inside Sales
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients by answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, roof consultants, product representatives, and potential clients.
- Manage client services through our CRM tools (Salesforce), respond promptly to website referrals, and conduct proactive phone and email follow-ups.
- Perform inside sales activities to introduce SMT services to new markets; attend conventions, conferences, and roofing industry seminars.
Qualifications & Education
Education: Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related Technical field is highly valued.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and Salesforce (or similar CRM software).
Industry Literacy: Strong ability to read construction drawings and a foundational understanding of construction processes.
Communication: Proficient English language skills (written and verbal) with excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
