About Offworld:

Offworld Industries Ltd. (Offworld) is the independent studio behind the successful military first-person shooter game, “Squad”. Offworld was formed in 2014 by more than 15 developers who had worked together on the well-known Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2. The founding purpose of the team was to bring a standalone successor of this acclaimed mod to market and build a game development studio and a livelihood from that foundation.

Fast forward to 2026, Offworld has over 150 employees and is rapidly growing. We have been expanding the studio into serving as a publisher supporting mods and have released our newest title, "Starship Troopers: Extermination", a 16-player PvE first-person shooter based on the 1997 cult-classic film.

We are built on passion, unified spirit and continuing efforts to break the mold. We strive to become a leader in creating large-scale multiplayer games as well as supplying others with the ability to do the same. We are looking for a talented 3D Generalist for our current and upcoming Unreal Engine based multiplayer games. About the role:

As a 3D Generalist at Offworld Industries you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual elements of our projects. You will work closely with art leadership and cross-disciplinary teams to create high-quality 3D assets that support the visual goals of the project. We are looking for an artist with a strong understanding of game art production
who can contribute across a range of asset types, from environments, props, weapons, vehicles and character accessories to materials and optimization. The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, and passionate about building immersive, performant content for large-scale multiplayer experiences.

Responsibilities:

Create high-quality 3D game assets from blockout to final in-engine implementation
Model, sculpt, unwrap, bake, and texture a wide variety of assets, including props, set dressing, and environment pieces
Work within established art direction, technical budgets, and production pipelines to deliver visually strong and performant content
Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Leads, Designers, Technical Artists, and other disciplines to ensure assets meet gameplay and technical requirements
Optimize assets, materials, and scene content for performance within Unreal Engine 5
Reuse and adapt existing assets, textures, and materials efficiently to support content production
Participate in art reviews, respond positively to feedback, and help maintain a high visual standard across the project
Troubleshoot asset issues in engine and support polish and bug fixing as needed
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of workflows, documentation, and production practices

Requirements:

Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality 3D art for games
Proficiency in 3D modeling packages such as Maya, Blender, or equivalent
Experience with sculpting tools such as ZBrush or 3D-Coat
Strong understanding of UV layout, map baking, and PBR texturing workflows
Experience using Substance Painter and creating game-ready materials and textures
Experience implementing and polishing assets in Unreal Engine 5
Experience with hard surface modeling
Solid understanding of optimization, texel density, modular workflows, and game engine limitations
Ability to create visually appealing assets while working within technical constraints
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to development
Ability to take direction, absorb feedback, and iterate quickly

Nice to Have:

Experience creating assets for realistic or grounded military games
Hard-surface modelling experience using tools such as Plasticity, Fusion, Shapr3D, or equivalent software.
Experience with foliage, terrain assets, or world-building pipelines
Knowledge of trim sheets, material blending, and modular environment workflows
Experience supporting outsourcing pipelines or reviewing external work
Passion for immersive FPS games and large-scale multiplayer experiences

This is a full-time permanent position, with the requirement to work from our office three days per week. The typical salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 CAD per year and is subject to change. The final agreed upon salary is based on work location and may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
