Technical Inside Sales & Quotations Specialist – Architectural Lighting

BL Lighting is looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused, and technically curious Technical Inside Sales & Quotations Specialist to join our Vancouver team.
This is a key role within our quotations department. You will help customers, sales representatives, and internal teams turn project requirements into accurate architectural lighting quotation packages. The role combines customer communication, technical product learning, drawing/specification review, quotation preparation, project follow-up, and internal coordination.
The right candidate will be comfortable working with customers by phone and email, reviewing project details, preparing quotations, checking accuracy, and learning technical lighting products over time.
This position is well suited to someone with experience in quotations, inside sales support, technical sales support, customer service, electrical products, lighting, construction materials, estimating, project coordination, interior design, architecture, or related technical products.

What you’ll do: Prepare technical quotations
- Review customer requests, drawings, specifications, measurements, product information, and project requirements.
- Prepare accurate quotation packages and bills of material for architectural lighting projects.
- Confirm important project details such as quantities, dimensions, finishes, colour temperature, wattage, drivers, mounting requirements, shipping information, and delivery requirements.
- Check quotations carefully for accuracy before they are sent to customers or sales representatives.
Communicate with customers and sales representatives
- Respond to customer and sales-representative inquiries by video / zoom calls, phone and email.
- Ask clear follow-up questions when project information is incomplete.
- Help customers and representatives understand product options, pricing, availability, lead times, timelines, and next steps.
- Maintain a professional, helpful, and clear communication style.
Support inside sales and project follow-up
- Follow up on quotation requests and open opportunities.
- Support sales representatives and customers through the quote-to-order process.
- Coordinate with vendors, production, shipping, receiving, purchasing, accounting, and other internal departments as needed.
- Help ensure approved quotations move smoothly into orders, production, and fulfillment.
Maintain accurate records and systems
- Log inquiries, quotations, customer information, and follow-up activity in company systems.
- Maintain pricing, product, and quotation records.
- Support internal process improvements as you learn the role.
- Help the team improve organization, follow-up, and CRM usage over time.
Learn architectural lighting
- Build knowledge of how BL Lighting’s products are used and installed, understand lighting applications, drivers, transformers, colour temperature, wattage, mounting methods, linear lighting, and project requirements.
- Learn how our products are used by architects, lighting designers, engineers, contractors, distributors, and independent sales representatives.
- Work with experienced team members while developing your own technical product knowledge.
What we’re looking for
The right person is organized, accurate, curious, and comfortable speaking with customers. You do not need to know everything about lighting on day one, but you must be willing to learn technical products and pay close attention to detail.

Helpful experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be helpful:

- Interior design, architecture, design-build, or project coordination.
- Reviewing drawings, measurements, specifications, or product details.

- Working with CRM, ERP, inventory, order-management, or accounting systems.
