The Role:
As a Quality Assurance Manager, reporting to the VP, Scientific Affairs, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of quality systems and programs for natural health products and dietary supplements. You will provide oversight of product quality and safety across the product lifecycle.
This role will collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Business Intelligence to ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and international regulations. Key responsibilities include maintaining food safety and quality standards, ensuring label compliance, supporting regulatory inspections and audits, managing recalls and complaint investigations, and overseeing product registrations and stability programs.
Job Expectations:
· Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Goli’s Quality Management System (QMS) across food, dietary supplements, and natural health products
· Develop and manage quality and compliance programs to ensure adherence to Health Canada (HC), FDA, and international regulatory requirements
· Maintain and disseminate current knowledge of global regulations, guidance, standards, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance
· Ensure company-wide readiness for regulatory inspections and audits; lead preparation, execution, and response to regulatory inquiries
· Oversee product quality across the lifecycle, including review and approval of formulas, labels, raw materials, and finished product specifications to ensure compliance and quality standards
· Monitor and assess product formula changes and label revisions to ensure continued compliance with global regulatory requirements
· Support and oversee product registrations, certifications, and technical dossiers for international markets; coordinate with third-party partners as required
· Manage third-party certifications (e.g., NSF, Non-GMO, Organic) and ensure ongoing compliance with certification standards
· Lead QA oversight of co-manufacturers, including qualification, auditing, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
· Own deviation management, including investigation of non-conformances and customer complaints, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
· Establish and oversee stability programs for dietary supplements and natural health products to ensure product quality throughout shelf life
· Develop and maintain product traceability, recall readiness, and crisis management processes
· Define, track, and report key quality and compliance metrics to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation
· Identify and proactively address global quality and regulatory risks to support products sold across international markets
· Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and quality documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
· Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Customer Experience to embed quality and compliance into all business processes
· Perform other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline
· 4–7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance within the CPG, dietary supplement, or food industry
· Strong experience with global regulatory frameworks, including Health Canada (NHPs) and FDA dietary supplement regulations
· Proven experience managing regulatory inspections, third-party audits, and audit readiness programs
· Experience working with co-manufacturers and external suppliers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
· Demonstrated experience in complaint handling, deviation investigations, and CAPA management
· Experience supporting product registrations and international market compliance is an asset
· Experience in stability programs and shelf-life management preferred
· Prior experience in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Deep understanding of GMP, HACCP, and quality systems applicable to dietary supplements and food products
· Strong knowledge of global regulatory requirements, including Health Canada NHP regulations and FDA dietary supplement regulations
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable solutions
· Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence internal teams and external partners
· High level of ownership, attention to detail, and accountability
· Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a dynamic, high-growth environment
· Experience with ERP systems, traceability tools, and quality management systems is an asset
· Ability to travel as needed to support audits and co-manufacturer oversight
Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
