Responsibilities

The installation, alteration or repair of any plumbing system, and includes all work usually done by a journeyman plumber who is governed by the BC Plumbing Code. Work such as installation and repair of piping, valves, pumps, fitting and fixtures associated with hot/cold water system, sewage system, hot water heating systems, and fuel and lubrication product delivery system. Also hydraulic hoists, air compressors, wash rack equipment and boilers.

Qualifications

Applicant must have Journeyman qualifications in the plumbing trade in the form of B.C. Trades Qualification (TQ) and/or Interprovincial certification.

Possession of current BC Technical Safety “Class B” Gas Fitters License required, “Class A” would be an asset.

Possession of a fire sprinkler installation ticket and or BCWWA Cross Connection Tester Licences would be an asset.

A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in an industrial/commercial building maintenance environment.

A Class 5 driver’s licence is required. An up-to-date driver’s abstract must accompany application.

Maximum 3 points in the past 2 years, and no more than 8 points in that last 5 years, no impaired convictions, roadside suspensions or prohibitions in the past 5 years.

Other Information

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

This position works predominately on-site.

Rate of Pay

Wage: $59.69 per hour

The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
