Position Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Production Planner/Scheduler to support our multi‑line manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient production scheduling, material readiness, and timely fulfillment across products including nut butters, raw nuts, dried fruits, and seeds. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, communicates clearly across teams, and adapts quickly to changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
01. Production Planning & Scheduling
· Weekly and monthly planning to build and manage production schedules across multiple processing and packaging lines.
· Balance forecast, inventory, and capacity to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
· Use historical data and forecasting tools to anticipate demand.
· Apply strong manual planning skills to maintain continuity when systems are unavailable.
· Maintain accurate schedules and ensure production flow with minimal disruption.
02. Cross‑Functional Coordination & Communication
· Daily alignment with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to confirm material readiness, equipment availability, and schedule feasibility.
· Communicate schedule changes clearly and ensure all teams understand priorities.
· Present clear, data‑driven reasoning behind scheduling decisions.
03. Exception Management & Data Integrity
· Quickly adjust schedules in response to:
- Equipment downtime
- Raw material delays
- Quality holds
- Urgent customer needs
· Ensure BOMs, routings, and production parameters reflect current processes.
· Confidently plan using Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and modeling.
04. Reporting, KPIs & Continuous Improvement
· Develop and share KPI reports, including:
- On‑time fulfillment
- Forecast accuracy
- Inventory turns
- Line throughput
· Provide insights to leadership to support effective decision‑making.
· Identify opportunities to streamline planning processes, reduce waste, and improve scheduling accuracy.
· Support implementation of new tools, templates, and planning methods.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years as a Production Planner, Scheduler, or Demand Planner, ideally in food manufacturing or other high‑speed consumer goods environments.
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related technical field.
- CPIM or CSCP certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics.
- Advanced Excel capabilities including pivot tables, macros, and data modeling.
- Skilled in manual forecasting and scheduling; able to maintain operations even without system support.
- Excellent communication—clear, persuasive, and data‑driven.
- Able to influence production teams and leadership without formal authority.
- Proactive and solution‑oriented; experienced in real‑time schedule adjustments.
- Comfortable analyzing complex data sets to determine capacity, demand, and material availability.
- Familiar with inventory metrics and planning KPIs.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑line production environment.
- Able to pivot quickly and maintain composure under pressure.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
