Job Description
The Production Associate plays a vital role in daily manufacturing operations by ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality food products. This position demands adherence to company standards, food safety regulations, and WorkSafeBC requirements, involving tasks such as operating production equipment, handling food products, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities

Perform production tasks such as mixing, assembling, cooking, packaging, labeling, and palletizing food products.

Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.

Follow production schedules, recipes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Meet productivity, quality, and yield targets.

Comply with all food safety programs, including HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation procedures.

Perform quality checks and report any deviations or product defects.

Maintain accurate production and quality records.

Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of ingredients and finished products.

Follow all WorkSafeBC requirements and company safety policies.

Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Report safety hazards, near misses, or incidents immediately.

Participate in safety training and toolbox meetings.

Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and tools.

Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned.

Support allergen control and cross-contamination prevention.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors.

Support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency initiatives.

Assist with training of new employees as required.
Required Skills
-
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.

Basic math and record-keeping skills.

SDCB Forklift Experience (ticket an asset).
-
Reach truck experience (ticket an asset).

1 year warehouse experience.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.

Ability to wear PPE all shift.

Ability to perform repetitive work.

Ability to work in a cooled environment (4 degrees).
Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, or warehouse environments is an asset.

Ability to work with chicken, beef, pork.
-
Flexibility on working times, food manufacturing, food prep, kitchen prep, HAACP, good manufacturing processes, GMP environment.

Work Environment
Shift work may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Overtime may be required based on operational needs. The work environment includes exposure to food ingredients, temperature-controlled areas, and production equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including steel-toed footwear. The start time is between 7-9 AM for an 8-hour shift, which may extend to PM or weekend shifts.
