Job Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This is a permanent full-time role and is 100% on-site. The appointee is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in the following areas: financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, account and bank reconciliations and other projects as needed. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure in a fast-paced environment and growing company. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the appointee will be responsible for the following:

Duties & Responsibilities

Assists the Financial Controller in implementing financial policies, controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Assists in the preparation of the internal monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and schedules.
Monitors and ensures the completion of the month-end close process, in conjunction with the Financial Controller.
Prepares complex reconciliations and resolves discrepancies in financial accounts.
Supports cash flow management, including forecasting and monitoring of liquidity needs and generating the weekly cash flow report.
Conducts regular financial variance analysis for key business areas, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
Assists in the preparation of the management financial analysis reporting package including identifying and reporting key findings on the results.
Prepares the daily bank reconciliation, update deposits for AR to process, post bank entries into SAP B1, and update cashflow projection report.
Reviews payment runs for recommendation and approval.
Remits various tax accounts including GST, QST, and PST, on a timely basis.
Assists in preparing lead sheets and working papers for annual audit, review and/or compilation, as required.
Leads or participates in finance-related special projects and process improvement initiatives as directed by the Financial Controller.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
CPA candidacy is preferable; CPA designation is a plus.
Minimum 3 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, audit, or a related analytical role.
Hands on experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred).
Solid foundation in finance and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; BI/reporting tools an asset.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with large datasets.
Inquisitive mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
