Full job description

The Canine Care Retreat is seeking a dedicated part-time team member who values long-term stability and the opportunity to build strong, lasting relationships with our dog guests and their families. We are a small, tight-knit team committed to delivering an exceptional standard of pet care, and we are looking for someone who shares that same passion and professionalism.

Role Overview

This position supports daily daycare and boarding operations while helping to maintain a clean, safe and enriching environment for our canine guests. The ideal candidate is a dependable individual with a strong work ethic and who is invested in becoming a long-term member of our team.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with dogs in a safe, attentive, and structured manner

Support feeding, cleaning, and general care routines

Heavy lifting of supplies, animals, and equipment as needed to support daily operations

Monitor group play and individual behaviour; recording and reporting any concerns to management

Maintain clean and organized indoor and outdoor spaces

Build strong rapport with dogs and communicate observations to the team

Assist with customer service and guest check-in/out as needed

What We’re Looking For

A genuine love for dogs and the desire to form meaningful, long-term bonds with them

Reliability, initiative, and a positive team-oriented mindset

Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Strong communication skills and professional conduct

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Willingness to learn and grow with our business

Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility when needed

Qualifications

Prior experience working with animals or in a customer service role is preferred but not required; all training will be provided
Reliable form of transportation to get you to and from the facility
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work on your feet, outdoors, and for long periods of time in all weather conditions
