Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
The Quality Technician measures and inspects precision machined parts and components, ensuring they meet exact specifications and quality standards. This role is highly hands-on, focusing primarily on inspection activities while also maintaining accurate documentation of results and non-conformances.
Responsibilities

Measure and inspect machined parts and components using precision tools such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and thread gauges.

Calibrate inspection tools and gauges to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.

Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to verify part dimensions and tolerances.

Perform detailed quality inspection and quality control checks on precision machined parts in a machine shop environment.

Identify, document, and report non-conforming parts or materials in accordance with quality assurance procedures.

Complete inspection documentation and quality records, including measurement data and non-conformance reports, representing approximately 20% of the role.

Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Use a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), if experienced, to perform advanced inspections and dimensional verification.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the quality inspection department.
Essential Skills

3+ years of experience as a quality technician or in a similar inspection-focused role.

2+ years of experience working in a machine shop environment inspecting precision machined parts.

Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, including verniers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and thread gauges.

Ability to calibrate inspection tools and measuring equipment.

Strong experience in inspection, quality control, and quality assurance practices.

Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings to verify dimensions and tolerances.

Experience identifying and documenting non-conforming parts and applying quality inspection standards.

Attention to detail and accuracy when performing measurements and recording results.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is considered an asset.

Experience in an aerospace environment is considered an asset.

Familiarity with quality inspection documentation and reporting.

Comfort working with various gauges and calipers in a precision machining context.

Work Environment
