ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for administrating and monitoring the operational stability of the enterprise infrastructure servers and networks. This position will specialize in one or more critical services; cyber security, virtualization, domain architecture/group policies, storage/replication/data recovery, windows/open systems, unified communications, network administration. This job requisition is for a new vacancy
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and monitor all enterprise IT infrastructure including physical servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
- Manage installation, configuration, and lifecycle support for hardware including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, UPS systems, and server room equipment.
- Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of all on-premises systems and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Maintain data center operations including patching, cable management, rack layouts, environmental monitoring, and disaster readiness.
- Infrastructure & Systems Administration (End-to-End)
- Administer Microsoft 365 tenant services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Manage user provisioning, licensing, mailbox administration, group policies, and access controls.
- Configure and enforce security and compliance policies through Microsoft Defender, Conditional Access, MFA, and retention policies.
- Support hybrid identity environments including Active Directory synchronization and authentication services.
- Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services Management
- Monitor and maintain secure network infrastructure including LAN/WAN connectivity, VPN services, DNS, DHCP, and firewall policies.
- Ensure infrastructure meets organizational cybersecurity standards through proactive patching, vulnerability remediation, and threat monitoring.
- Support incident response activities including investigation, containment, and recovery of IT security events.
- Network & Security Operations
- Perform and validate backups across servers, cloud workloads, and critical business systems.
- Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure continuity of operations.
- Ensure recoverability of systems, data, and Microsoft 365 services through documented restoration procedures.
- Lead as the SME in cyber security policies, projects, audits and improvements.
- Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Monitor infrastructure security, health, system performance, storage capacity, and network availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Respond to alerts, outages, and performance degradation with timely resolution and root cause analysis.
- Perform preventative maintenance and implement improvements to reduce downtime.
- Monitoring, Performance & Reliability
- Participate in planning and executing IT infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support business growth.
- Project Implementation & Technology Improvement
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for infrastructure configurations, network diagrams, policies, and procedures.
- Manage system configuration, patch management, and change control processes to ensure stability and audit compliance.
- Documentation & Change Management
- Provide Tier 2- 3 escalation support for complex infrastructure and cloud-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors, and managed service providers to resolve technical challenges.
- Communication
- Communicate system trends, issues and outages to management and colleagues.
- Ensures ongoing communication with internal and external partners regarding systems updates and any outstanding issues.
- Process Improvement
- Research and recommend new technologies to reduce costs and improve business system requirements and efficiencies.
- Analyze and implement server and network infrastructures to enhance system functionality, stability, and security.
- Project/Task Management
- Ensure the availability of web, database, and application servers.
- Perform backups and ensure recoverability of serves.
- Provide server and network systems consultation services to non-system administrators through actively participating in problem solving and internal project meetings.
- Responsibility for server and network systems security and support to peers with security issues.
- Responsible for ensuring and providing support on security issues to internal and external customers, as required.
- Provide server and network systems support by addressing issues, questions and problems.
- Monitor system and network performance and alerts.
- Make timely and decisive decisions, as required to ensure that critical activities are accomplished in a timely manner.
- Evaluate, implement, maintain and improve server and network systems management tools including system configuration, documentation and reporting.
- Manage system configuration and change control of servers and network, as required.
- Participate in the installation of systems to assist in meeting project times.

- Ensure complex system problems are resolved in a timely manner and critical computers are returning to the business.
- Ensure the cause of the problem is identified, and plans are executed to ensure it will not reoccur.

- Perform analysis on new technology features versus requirements, software release upgrades features that impact to our current system usage, and how to use technology to solve business issues and/or initiatives.
- Promotes and works to maintain workplace wellness, health and safety, through active compliance with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years’ experience working in a system administrator role
- 3 – 5 years’ experience working with server virtualization VMware
- 3 – 5 years’ experience working with NAS and SAN technology
- 3 – 5 years’ experience working with domain management structure, network architecture and network administration
- Advance knowledge of email architecture and operations
- 3 – 5 years’ working experience designing, testing and documentation the use of new features and procedure for server systems
- 5 – 8 years’ experience troubleshooting IT issues
- 3 – 5 years’ experience working with Windows and IIS web servers
- 3 – 5 years’ experience developing security specifications for new hardware/software platforms.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience working under pressure, multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment
