Full job description

PharmAssist Medication Management, a leading mail-order pharmacy in Richmond Hill, Ontario, is currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Assistant/Pharmacy Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for answering patient calls, communicating with healthcare providers, assisting with billing and prescription preparation, and scheduling appointments for pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

Answer incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders in a courteous and professional manner
Assist with billing processes, including insurance claims and invoicing
Help with the preparation of prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
Schedule appointments for pharmacy services, such as medication consultations or immunizations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to privacy regulations and best practices
Communicate with healthcare providers to facilitate prescription transfers, refills, and other necessary information
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively
Assist with other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is a plus
Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or customer service setting is preferred
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in using computers and common office software
Familiarity with pharmacy management software, particularly Fillware, is an asset
Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Accuro, is a plus
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

Assets:

Previous pharmacy experience, especially in a mail-order or retail pharmacy setting
Knowledge of Fillware pharmacy management software
Familiarity with Accuro electronic medical records (EMR) system
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.50-$22.00 per hour
