The Department of Anesthesia of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) seeks additional energetic and dedicated Anesthesiologists to join our team of forty members.

Eligible applicants hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Anesthesiology and in Critical Care and are eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. Successful candidates will have a strong history of success in all domains of the CanMeds roles outlined by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Previous medical leadership experience an asset

We are a growing academic department providing services integrated across two tertiary hospital sites in Victoria. Affiliated with the University of British Columbia, and the Island Medical Program, responsibilities will include both direct clinical care and teaching of medical students and residents.

We recommend potential applicants work as a locum or include an elective rotation in Victoria during their training.

The Vancouver Island Health Authority provides comprehensive and progressive healthcare services to over 750,000 residents of Vancouver Island.
