The Senior Carpenter/Handyman performs hands-on tasks related to renovations and facilities maintenance. The person in this position has a solid background, skills and experience across multiple trades and construction techniques, a strong ability to deliver exceptional customer service and the ability to occasionally supervise subcontractors.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Renovations, repairs and maintenance for commercial clients, such as grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, banks, restaurants, retail, office buildings, etc.
· Light framing, drywall repairs and painting
· Flooring installations
· T-bar ceiling installation, windows / doors installations
· Light millwork, carpentry repairs
· Provide onsite supervision and guidance to subcontractors, when needed
· Ensure all safety measures are met as per WCB and client specific standards
· Monitor quality and ensure standards are met
· Daily tracking of hours, material and equipment used on each project
· Coordinate and communicate effectively with office team members
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Required Experience:
· 5+ years of experience with renovations and facilities maintenance
· Previous lead-hand experience
· Estimating / quoting experience is an asset
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to read drawings/blueprints and schedules is required
· Great communication skills – written and verbal
· Great troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, active listener and critical thinker
· Highly safety-oriented, must comply with health & safety standards
· Ability to lead subcontractors
· Ability to remain calm under pressure, stay focused and organized
· High attention to detail
· Ability to meet tight deadlines
· Must be confident using smartphone, apps, computer, etc.
Other:
· A criminal background check will be required to work on certain jobsites.
· Valid driver's license is required.
