CONTRACTOR OPPORTUNITY

FITNESS ATTENDANT

CRYSTAL POOL AND FITNESS CENTRE

Overview

The City of Victoria is looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a passion for health and fitness and a desire to support customers to reach their goals in a safe environment. Fitness Attendants are contract positions and are not City of Victoria employees. Fitness Attendants ensure patrons use the facility in a safe manner, provide equipment orientations, clean and disinfect cardio and weight room equipment and promotes fitness programs and services. Fitness Attendants provide excellent customer service by responding to patron’s questions and concerns, being open and approachable to all patrons.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

· Ensure facility safety procedures are being followed

· Clean fitness equipment and high touch areas

· Provide information and answer questions regarding programs and services

· Provide equipment orientations

· Liaise with maintenance, reception and program staff

Qualifications and Experience

· BCRPA Weight Training Leader Certification

· Liability Insurance (5 million)

· Minimum 6 months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Strong communication and organizational skill required

· Demonstrated experience in public relations and in dealing with difficult situations in a positive, courteous and effective manner

· Current Emergency First Aid & CPR C

· Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment as well as to work independently

· A clear and current criminal record check is a condition of employment and is the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.

Compensation: $26.78/hour. (Please note this is a non-union position)

Positions: 1-3

Hours of work: Regular Tuesday & Thursday shift – 7 – 10 a.m.

July and August vacation coverage

- Mon/ Wed – 7-10 a.m.

- Mon/Wed – 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
