Mechanical Designer – Victoria

Position: Mechanical Designer (Professional Engineer/EIT/Technologist)
Business Function: Mechanical Consulting Engineering
Location: RPE office at Victoria, BC
The Opportunity: Building Services Mechanical Engineering

Rocky Point Engineering is a highly successful Mechanical Consulting Engineering firm with 7 offices across British Columbia and we are seeking candidates with both education and experience in plumbing and mechanical system design.

Description:

We are seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Design Engineer or Design Technologist with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical drafting and design using REVIT and AutoCAD. The successful candidate will be involved in HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection design.

We are looking to obtain an enthusiastic, talented and professional team player. The applicant must be detail-oriented, love challenges and enjoy contributing to the success of the team in a progressive work environment.

For those who are not Canadian citizens or Permanent Resident card holders please note we require a valid work permit.

Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily limited to the following:

Setup AutoCAD/Revit drawings using company AutoCAD/Revit design and CAD standards
HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection drafting as per mark-ups provided by Design Staff
Detailed review of work performed prior to submitting completed drafting to Design team and working within company’s organizational quality management system
Performing various other duties as assigned by the manager

Minimum Skills /Qualifications:

University degree, college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 2+ years design and AutoCAD experience in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 2+ years experience with HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection design
Able to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines
Revit experience is preferred including 2+ years BIM experience with Revit MEP
Ability to model mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems in Revit
