On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting an experienced Set-Up Press Labourer for a full-time opportunity in WATERLOO.
This is not an entry-level machine operator position. We are looking for someone with hands-on metal fabrication or press operation experience who is confident completing press set-ups, tooling changeovers, equipment cleaning, and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring tools.

Pay Rate: $23.10/hr + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly!
Shift: Days, Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:30pm, Fridays: 7:00am – 11:00am during peak production periods.

- Set up, adjust, and safely operate automated press and injection moulding equipment
- Complete mould and tooling changeovers to support efficient production scheduling
- Clean presses, tooling, moulds, water lines, and surrounding equipment between production runs
- Apply mould protectant, tag tooling, and properly store equipment following production
- Install moulds, tooling, and required equipment for upcoming production jobs
- Coordinate production changeovers with Material Handlers to minimize downtime
- Produce first-off samples and obtain Quality Control approval before production begins
- Perform in-process inspections using Vernier calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation
- Monitor product quality, identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 2 years of experience in metal fabrication, press operation, machine set-up, or injection moulding
- Experience completing press, mould, or tooling changeovers in a manufacturing environment
- Experience cleaning and preparing presses and tooling between production runs
- Strong quality inspection experience using Vernier calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards, defect identification, and corrective actions
- Overhead crane experience is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment
- Reliable attendance, strong attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety
