Xact Machining is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our growing team. We are a clean, modern, and temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that values quality workmanship, precision, and teamwork. Schedule

Enjoy an excellent work-life balance with our 4.5-day workweek:

Monday to Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes.
Create, develop, and modify CNC programs for milling and turning operations.
Program CNC machines from engineering drawings, 3D models, and job specifications.
Develop efficient cutting strategies, toolpaths, feeds, speeds, and tooling selections to optimize machining processes.
Edit and optimize existing CNC programs to improve cycle times, part quality, and machine efficiency.
Set and adjust machine offsets, work coordinates, and tool offsets to achieve final part specifications.
Set up and prove out new programs and first-off parts.
Verify part quality using precision measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues and make necessary program, tooling, or offset adjustments.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools and machining strategies based on material, geometry, and tolerance requirements.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
Work closely with team members to meet production, quality, and delivery objectives.

Qualifications

Experience with CNC machine setup, operation, program editing, and machine offset adjustments.
Hands-on CNC programming experience, including the ability to create and modify programs for CNC mills or lathes.
Ability to develop CNC programs from engineering drawings and/or 3D CAD models.
Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining practices.
Ability to produce precision parts to print specifications.
Experience with CNC milling and turning operations.
Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills and live-tooling Y-axis lathes is preferred.
Experience with CAM programming software is preferred.
Ability to optimize programs for cycle time, tool life, surface finish, and overall machining efficiency.
Manual machining experience is considered a strong asset.
Strong understanding of GD&T and precision measurement techniques.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
