We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and organized individual to help care for and manage our private family home.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position that combines housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, household organization and care of our two friendly Golden Retrievers.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-organized home, enjoys dogs, is comfortable preparing meals and can work independently.
Schedule flexibility is an important part of this position. Our family travels regularly throughout the year, including weekends to attend our son's OHL hockey games. Some weekends each month may require working and staying overnight in our home while we are away.
Weekend work is not required every weekend. When weekend coverage is required, days off will generally be scheduled during the week so that the position remains approximately 40 hours per week.
Our travel schedule is generally known in advance, allowing us to plan weekend and overnight requirements ahead of time.
Responsibilities
- General housekeeping and maintaining a clean, comfortable and organized home
- Vacuuming, dusting, mopping and cleaning kitchens, bathrooms and living areas
- Laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing and changing bed linens
- Preparing simple, healthy family meals
- Maintaining an organized grocery and household supply list and identifying items that need to be purchased
- Caring for our two friendly Golden Retrievers, including feeding, providing fresh water, letting them outside, walking them as needed and providing companionship
- Maintaining the dogs' normal routines when we are away
- Staying overnight in our home and caring for the dogs and household when we are travelling
- Monitoring household supplies and identifying items that need to be replenished
- Coordinating access for occasional tradespeople, maintenance providers and other household services
- Keeping the home organized and identifying household tasks that need attention
- Working independently and managing daily priorities without requiring constant direction
Schedule
- Full-time position averaging approximately 40 hours per week
- Regular weekday hours when the family is home
- Some weekend availability will be required each month, but not every weekend
- Weekend requirements will generally be communicated and scheduled in advance
- Some weekends will require overnight stays in our home while we are travelling
- When weekend work is required, corresponding days off will generally be provided during the week
- Occasional multi-day overnight stays may be required
- Flexibility is important, as the weekly schedule will vary depending on our family's travel schedule

- Previous housekeeping, household management, hospitality or similar experience
- Someone who genuinely enjoys dogs and is comfortable caring for two friendly Golden Retrievers
- Flexible availability, including some weekends and overnight stays
