We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and motivated individual to provide direct day-to-day support to our President and CEO. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to learn how a growing business operates while working closely with an experienced business leader.
This is not a traditional desk-based administrative position. The successful candidate will work alongside the President throughout the business day and may accompany him to the office, company facilities, business meetings, customer and supplier visits, and work-related travel.
The role is designed for someone who is eager to learn, receptive to coaching, and capable of retaining instructions and following through consistently. Direct training and mentorship will be provided, but the successful candidate must demonstrate initiative, professionalism, adaptability, and a genuine interest in learning the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the President’s calendar, appointments, meetings, and daily schedule.
- Accompany the President to business meetings, company locations, and external appointments as required.
- Organize daily priorities and ensure the President is prepared for meetings and commitments.
- Take clear meeting notes and maintain an accurate record of instructions, decisions, and action items.
- Track outstanding tasks and follow up with employees, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and other business documents.
- Coordinate business travel, including transportation, accommodations, itineraries, and required documentation.
- Monitor incoming communications and ensure important or time-sensitive matters are addressed.
- Assist with business research, operational projects, and company initiatives.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records.
- Handle confidential business, employee, customer, and executive information with discretion.
- Anticipate scheduling conflicts, missing information, and upcoming requirements.
- Provide additional administrative support connected to the President’s business schedule and responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Post secondary degree or diploma in business administration, communications, finance, operations, or a related area is preferred.
- Early-career professionals are encouraged to apply.
- Previous administrative, coordination, customer service, internship, or office experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Demonstrated reliability, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional judgment and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Comfortable receiving direct feedback and applying it constructively.
- Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and a fast-moving schedule.
- Proficient with Google Workspace.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Valid passport, or the ability to obtain one, for occasional business travel.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Schedule and Travel
- This is a full-time, in-person position based primarily around the President’s business schedule in GTA.
- The successful candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday.
- Some flexibility may be required for early mornings, evenings, overnight travel, or changing business priorities.
- Regular travel within Ontario and occasional domestic or international business travel may be required.
- Approved business travel expenses will be covered in accordance with company policy.
Training and Development
The successful candidate will receive direct coaching and practical exposure to several areas of the business, including:
- Business operations
- Steel trading and customer relations
- Warehousing and logistics
- Sales and business development
- Project coordination and executive decision-making
Compensation
The starting wage is $25.00 per hour. Performance and compensation will be reviewed following the six-month probationary period based on the employee’s development, reliability, execution, and ability to support the President independently.
