Full job description

Overview

TutorCraft is seeking an experienced In-Person Grade 7 Tutor to support a student in Kitchener, Ontario, primarily with homework help and ongoing academic support in Math, English, and French.

The ideal candidate should have strong firsthand experience with the Ontario curriculum, preferably having completed their own schooling in Ontario, and should be comfortable helping a Grade 7 student understand classroom material, complete homework, prepare for tests and assignments, and stay on track academically.

This is a part-time, in-person position of approximately 4–6 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Provide in-person Grade 7 homework help in Math, English, and French.
Help the student understand concepts currently being taught at school rather than simply providing answers.
Review homework, assignments, classwork, and upcoming tests.
Identify areas where the student is struggling and provide additional practice and explanations.
Ensure tutoring is aligned with the Ontario Grade 7 curriculum and the student's classroom learning.
Help the student develop stronger study habits, organization, and confidence.
Communicate progress and areas of concern with the parent when appropriate.
Prepare additional practice questions or worksheets when needed.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge and experience with the Ontario curriculum is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who completed their own elementary/secondary education in Ontario and are highly familiar with how Ontario schools teach and assess students.
Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or homework-support experience with children is strongly preferred.
Must be confident supporting Grade 7 Math and English.
Strong French skills and the ability to assist with Grade 7 French homework and coursework are highly preferred.
Patient, reliable, organized, and able to explain concepts in simple ways.
Must be comfortable working directly with a Grade 7 student in a home-based tutoring environment.
Must be able to reliably commute to the tutoring location in Kitchener, Ontario.

Location: 945 Eden Oak Court, Kitchener, ON N2A 0H4
Format: In-person only
Hours: Approximately 4–6 hours per week
Student: Grade 7
Primary Subjects: Math, English & French
Primary Focus: Homework help, schoolwork support, test preparation, and Ontario curriculum reinforcement

Candidates should confirm their experience with the Ontario curriculum, relevant tutoring/teaching experience, and their ability to commute reliably to the Kitchener location when applying.

Pay: $18.16-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 6.0 per week
