Masco Crane & Hoist has an immediate opening for a General Labourer with Sandblasting, Saw Operating & Painting Experience to join our team. Reporting to the Project Manager and Shop Foreman, the General Labourer will provide support to the manufacturing and production team by assisting skilled trades personnel with a variety of tasks. As Masco Crane & Hoist prides itself with providing a safe working environment, the General Labourer will be required to perform all tasks while adhering to OH&S guidelines.
This is a permanent full-time position based on a 40 hour work week.
Duties and Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Performing general cleaning of compound and shop
- Painting finished products and service equipment including Structural Steel and manufactured Cranes as required
- Perform Sandblasting projects on site and off site as required
- Moving tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas using forklift
- Receiving, checking and confirming delivery of materials and parts
- Assisting the production and manufacturing team on projects as required
- Keeping work site cleaning at all times
- Load and unload materials and manufactured products
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned based on the company’s requirements
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Minimum High School Diploma with 1-2 years of industry related experience with good reading and communication skills
- Saw Operating, Sandblasting and Painting experience necessary
- Forklift and Telehandler experience necessary
- Use of hand and power tools competently
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
- Great team player with excellent attention to details and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Applicant must adhere to all company policies including working safely and observing all safety rules to providing a safe work environment for all employees.
Candidate must be flexible as candidate may be required to work evenings and weekends as the job or project requires. Candidate are required to have own tools and safety equipment, steel toed boots, safety glasses etc. Candidate must be physically fit.
Candidate must have good problem solving skills, be able to work both independently as well as part of a team. Please note, this is a fast-paced environment, working under pressure, tight deadlines and tasks can be repetitive, therefore no training will be provided.
