Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires excellent communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a genuine love for working with children. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early learning experiences while working in a collaborative and supportive setting.

Duties

Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest.
Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
May supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
Maintain daycare equipment
Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children

Experience

Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred
Classroom experience demonstrating effective teaching methods and classroom management skills
Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in early education
Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues
Organizational skills necessary for lesson planning, record keeping, and managing classroom activities
Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while working collaboratively within a team environment

Requirements/Qualifications:

Early Childhood Diploma or related course
Criminal record check - Vulnerable sector
Medical Certificate
Immunization records
Tuberculosis test
First Aid Certificate
CPR Certificate
