Job Description

Accounting Manager

Doher & Co. Chartered Accountants is a local firm of Chartered Professional Accountants located in Windsor, Ontario.

We provide audit, accounting and tax services, as well as a variety of business advisory services to a wide range of clients in industries ranging from automotive to manufacturing to retail to professional services, such as doctors, lawyers and dentists. We also provide services to the non-for-profit sector.

We require an enthusiastic individual who is willing to work in a dynamic environment to fulfill a full time position.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

Provide management and leadership to team members on assurance and non-assurance engagements
Provide detailed review of audit, review and compilation working paper files to ensure compliance with professional and firm standards
Preparation of financial statements and tax returns on a timely basis that meet professional and firm standards
Performing audit and assurance engagements as required
Manage budgets on all engagements
Communication directly with clients and with partners and other professional staff
Preparation of client billings for review by the managing partner
Mentoring of junior staff members
Develop new business opportunities with existing client and new clients

Job requirements include:

A current CPA designation with a minimum of six years of public accounting experience
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
Possess strong leadership and mentoring skills
Experience in managing a team
Possess excellent written and oral communications skills
Proficient in Word, Excel, Caseware, Caseview, Simply Accounting, Quickbooks and Taxprep software.
Business development skills is an asset
