Job Overview
New Earth Wellness is a wellness clinic located Tecumseh, ON. We have a team of multidisciplinary practitioners including social workers, psychotherapists, naturopathic doctor and home to the Harmonic Eggs. We are currently looking to add 1-3 social workers/psychotherapists to our growing team.

We are seeking licensed, experienced practitioners to provide high-quality, professional services on a contract basis. The Independent Contractor will manage a designated caseload, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions or case management services. The contractor is responsible for providing their own equipment and operating within their specialized expertise to achieve contracted outcomes. The prospective candidate(s) must have day time, evening and weekend availability and previous experience working in private practice is considered an asset.

We are looking for someone who is professional, team orientated and someone who is client focused.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct initial assessments to understand client needs, goals, and circumstances.

- Utilize various assessment tools to evaluate clients' mental health conditions and life challenges.

Therapeutic Interventions: Provide individual, couples or family counselling sessions to address emotional, mental, and behavioural issues.

- Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to client needs (e.g., somatic experiencing, mindfulness-based stress reduction, CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, ACT etc.).

Developing Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans with clear goals and objectives.

- Monitor and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure progress and effectiveness.

Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting sessions, progress, and any changes in treatment plans.

- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards regarding client documentation.

Collaboration and Referral: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals within the New Earth team and in the community.

- Refer clients to specialized services or community resources when additional help is required.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.

- Registration or licensing with a recognized professional body in Ontario (e.g., College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario - CRPO).

- Must carry professional liability insurance (malpractice insurance).

- Strong understanding of counselling theories and practices.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with clients.

- Commitment to ethical and culturally sensitive practice.

- Previous experience in a counselling or mental health setting is preferred.
