Human Resources Assistant - Manufacturing Operations
Our client is a growing Windsor-area manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on Human Resources Assistant to support employees and operations across two nearby facilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career HR professional who wants broad, practical exposure across attendance administration, recruitment, onboarding, health and safety, training, and eventually payroll.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Pay: $23.50 - $24.50 per hour
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire
Location: Windsor / Tecumseh area, Ontario
Work Arrangement: On-site across two locations approximately 10 minutes apart

This is a hands-on HR support position rather than a senior HR advisory or policy-focused role.
What You Will Be Doing
Attendance and Timekeeping
- Review employee hours and attendance records on a weekly basis
- Document late arrivals and unexcused absences
- Monitor employee attendance-related messages through When I Work
- Prepare biweekly timekeeping information for operational leadership
- Assist with resolving missed or incorrect punches
- Develop toward taking on payroll responsibilities
Health and Safety
- Organize monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
- Coordinate recurring workplace inspections
- Support inspections related to forklifts, first aid equipment, fire extinguishers, and other workplace safety requirements
- Maintain current documentation on workplace health and safety boards
- Help track follow-up items and corrective actions
Recruitment and Selection
- Conduct initial phone interviews for General Labour opportunities
- Prepare and maintain job postings
- Review resumes and make candidate recommendations
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
- Develop toward assisting with interviews for additional Production positions
Onboarding
- Coordinate required Bright Safe training for new employees
- Support new-hire orientation and first-shift preparation
- Add new employees to When I Work and support initial system setup
- Follow up with new hires to ensure required documentation is completed
- Confirm WagePoint invitations and payroll onboarding steps have been completed
- Develop toward preparing offer letters and employment contracts for General Labour positions
Training and Documentation
- Maintain employee training certificates in Bright Safe
- Track required training for Production and Warehouse employees
- Help ensure employee training records remain current and complete

- Availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to travel between two nearby work locations during the workday
