Rehab First Inc. is currently seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in the Windsor/Chatham region(s) to support our growing client base through community-based service delivery. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Rehab First is one of Ontario's largest multidisciplinary assessment and treatment organizations, with a growing team of approximately 120 professionals specializing in a variety of disciplines. Guided by our values - sincerity, commitment, and self-improvement - we aim to restore hope and function for clients impacted by serious injury and illness.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement rehabilitation programs with the client as directed by the Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist
Provide one-on-one therapeutic support with clients
Promote independence of the client in the home, community, and at work to support re-integration
Facilitate a smooth transition into school or work activities
Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living as directed
Facilitate and implement educational and vocational re-integration as directed
Facilitate and implement cognitive therapy programs as directed
Promote and implement leisure activities as directed
Implement exercise programs or group exercise classes as directed
Function as an integral component of an interdisciplinary team
Work under minimal supervision accepting responsibility and accountability as assigned

Qualifications:

Graduate of a recognized OTA/PTA College program
Preferred 1 year of experience working as an OTA/PTA with ABI, TBI and clients with complex diagnoses
Experience with head trauma and brain injury is an asset
Valid CPR certification
Valid G driver's license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within the last 6 months prior to hire date)
Superior communication, problem-solving, time-management and documentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
