Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Auditor in our Windsor, Ontario Facility. The Quality Auditor is responsible for supporting internal audits. Summary of Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the annual internal audit schedule, ensuring all required audit types (IATF, ISO9001, VDA, TISAX,CQI Assessments and CSR)
- Lead and conduct internal audits using a process-based approach and risk-based thinking to verify compliance with IATF 16949 ,ISO 9001 and VDA requirements, Customer-Specific Requirements (CSRs), applicable regulatory and statutory requirements, and internal procedures and work instructions.
- Assess process effectiveness by evaluating whether processes achieve planned results through the review of KPIs, quality objectives, customer complaints, scrap, rework, and warranty performance, while confirming that controls are effective and risks are appropriately identified and managed.
- Nonconformities are identified by documenting findings and nonconformances, gathering objective evidence to support the observations, and classifying the findings before communicating them to the appropriate process owners for review and corrective action.
- Verify that the root cause analysis has been completed, review the corrective action plans, and confirm that the identified actions have been effectively implemented and sustained over time to prevent recurrence.
- Prepares comprehensive audit reports, presents audit results to management, and tracks audit metrics while ensuring timely closure of audit findings and corrective actions.
- Supports continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for enhancement, promoting defect prevention and waste reduction, and actively contributing to organizational continuous improvement initiatives.
- As an auditor, ensuring you meet the Internal Audit Program that you are competent and appropriately qualified, maintaining up-to-date auditor training records, and continuously monitoring audit effectiveness and compliance with IATF requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining the master list of controlled documents, assigning document numbers, revision levels, and effective dates, ensuring that only current revisions are available at points of use, and removing and archiving obsolete documents to prevent unintended use.
- Coordinate the creation and revision of documents, route them to the appropriate process owners for review and approval and verify that proper authorization has been obtained before release.
- Control customer-specific requirements (CSRs), engineering specifications, drawings, standards, and other external documents by ensuring all revisions are reviewed, communicated, and implemented in a timely manner across the organization.
- Track document revision history, verify that all document changes are properly reviewed, approved, and communicated, and maintain accurate change logs and revision records.
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, including the Quality Manual, procedures, work instructions, forms and records, process maps, control plans, PFMEAs, and other related quality documentation, as applicable to the organization's structure and requirements.
- The Document Control function is responsible for notifying relevant departments of document revisions, ensuring employees have access to the latest approved versions of documents, and supporting the maintenance of training records associated with revised procedures.
- Able to travel between Cananda & USA periodically to perform audits
- Coordinate activities between departments and/or outside parties
- Interact with company personnel at all organizational levels
- Collating and analyzing performance charts and data against defined parameters
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a 2-3-year diploma/degree program from a university/college in engineering
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and VDA
- Understanding of Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Process auditing techniques
- Root cause analysis
- 3 - 5 years of Quality Assurance/ISO standards experience
Preferred Qualifications
- IATF Certification and VDA Certification
The salary range for this role is $65,000 – $90,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
