Senior Lending Specialist | Client-Facing Underwriter

Kelowna preferred. Lower Mainland works. Open to BC or AB for the right person.

If you consider yourself a Rockstar underwriter, this is the conversation.

The Lending Specialist on our team is a respected, client-facing expert. You'll carry a full pipeline, own placement and conditions, and be on client calls every day - discovery, pre-approval reviews, condition walkthroughs, renewal conversations. The client knows you by name.

This is not the role for someone who wants to grind anonymously behind a screen. It's the role for the

best underwriter you know who's tired of being treated like back-office.

You'll thrive here if:

You want to be the highest-paid underwriter you know
You solve problems instead of escalating them
You'd rather own the file than blame the file
You're confident and warm on client calls (discovery, hard conversations, condition walkthroughs)
You believe service standards are a moral position
You see AI as leverage that lets you be a better technician, not a replacement for the human work
You operate by something close to the Flow Code: Mission Over Mortgage, Own the Outcome, Protect the Standard
You don't need to be managed into excellence

You'll hate this job if:

You think the broker owns the relationship and you own the paperwork
You need a manager to follow up on your follow-ups
You'd rather not be on the phone with clients every day
You like being mediocre at multiple things instead of elite at one
You want to invent new systems before mastering ours
You're allergic to client contact

Hard requirements:

BCFSA licensed, current and in good standing (Alberta licensing is a strong asset)
Minimum 2 years as a Lender or Broker Underwriter, OR 300+ files closed
Comfortable leading client conversations end to end
Genuine fluency with AI tools - you already use them in your work, or you're ready to
References from your last two roles
Strong tech fluency
Located on the West Coast or Okanagan
Strength in alternative, private, and construction financing is a real edge

Compensation:

Base salary $65,000-$75,000+ depending on experience, licensing, and complexity range
Per-file commission on every funded deal - total comp $100,000+ (no ceiling)
Semi-annual performance bonus tied to clean-file %, funded volume, and client NPS
