Full job description

ATK group is looking for a qualified Dietary Aide to become part of our food and nutrition department. Our duty is to our residents to provide great meals, atmosphere and overall, a great work environment. We are a quaint home of 27 beds nestled in the small town of Fordwich. We pride ourselves in community involvement and passionate team members. If you are ready to improve the lives of others starting with food, this is the position for you!

Duties and Responsibilities
· Assisting with the service of meals in the dining room by ensuring residents are meeting their nutritional needs- knowledge of therapeutic meals/menus is considered an asset.

· Washing, cleaning and maintaining overall cleanliness in the kitchen, storage, and dining rooms.

· Ensuring proper temperatures of food and storage.

· Practicing FIFO and proper storage of food.

· Preparation of snacks, meals and the ability to read and convert recipes.

Requirements
· Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate.

· Chef training, culinary management certificate, or diploma from a program that meets the requirements of the FLTCA, or Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by an authority meeting the requirements of the FLTCA are considered an asset.

· Ability to work every other weekend and flexible hours.

· Demonstrated ability to be a positive team player.

· Communication skills between all aspects of the home; team members, management and residents.

· Ability to work independently or as a team.

· Must provide a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check.

· Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment and clear 2- step TB test prior to being hired.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
