Position Overview:

We are looking for a Montessori Teacher who is passionate about working with young children and providing a safe and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player, have a caring personality, and possess the ability to contribute to the overall well-being and development of the children in our school.

The Role

As a Montessori Teacher, you will be primarily responsible for providing:

Supervision and Interaction:

Engage with children in age-appropriate activities and play.
Create and execute Montessori curriculum
Ensure the safety and well-being of each child in your care.
Foster positive interactions and relationships with children.

Daily Care:

Create a clean and organized environment in play and rest areas.
Encourage and assist children in developing self-help skills.
Preparation of snacks for children.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers regarding their child.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a cohesive and supportive environment.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Learning Support:

Assist in implementing age-appropriate educational activities.
Assisting Teachers with educational curriculum.
Support the implementation of the daily schedule and routine.
Encourage curiosity and a love for learning through play and exploration.
Act as the school's ambassador.
Assist in other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; additional Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
Previous experience in a childcare setting or Montessori field is preferred.

Valid Certificate in Standard Level First Aid and Level C Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their development.
Complete a 40-hour course related to early learning and childcare within the first year of employment.
Canadian citizenship and/or legally permitted to work in Canada
Clear Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Check, and Vulnerable Sector Search.

Desired:

Early learning and Childcare coursework.
Montessori teaching credential from a recognized Montessori training program.
