Full job description

Role:

As an RN in the Critical Care Unit (CCU), you will provide specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced medical support. You will work closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care in accordance with established critical care standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform comprehensive physical and hemodynamic assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to treatment.
Administer medications including IV infusions, vasoactive agents, and emergency drugs safely and accurately.
Operate and monitor life-support and critical care equipment (cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, defibrillators).
Assist physicians with invasive and emergency procedures.
Respond rapidly to clinical deterioration and participate in resuscitation and code management.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
Adhere strictly to infection control, safety, and quality improvement protocols.
Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.

Requirements:

2-3 years of Critical Care Experience is mandatory
Experience providing aeromedical care is an asset
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)certification is an asset
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is an asset
Current Trauma Course (PHTLS or ITLS) is considered an asset
Indigenous cultural awareness training is considered an asset
Proof of current required vaccinations as per company policy
Air Medical Crew (AMC) Candidates must successfully:
Complete the company provided aeromedical training (CAMATA Level 1)
Provide proof of a Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
Scan, Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry
Obtain and maintain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
Possess and Maintain a Valid Driver’s License
Possess and Maintain a Valid Canadian Passport
Attain a Fit to Fly Form, completed by a recognized physician in Canada as required or directed by the Company.

Compensation:

$98,000 - $123,500 per year based on experience
