PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Analyst, Receivables Management, you will ensure the timely collection of all amounts due under customer contracts and tariffs while maintaining a strong client relationship. This involves utilizing the Collection Escalation Process to include letters and phone calls, while at the same time addressing customer disputes, concerns or inquiries.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Timely monitoring and collecting of past due receivables; maintaining confidentiality while protecting CPKC’s financial position
Investigates, validates and resolves account discrepancies/disputes, by working with both CPKC’s internal & external customers
Builds and maintain collaborative relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Strategically manages multiple escalated accounts in addition to a non-escalated portfolio
Drills down to the root cause to resolve complex issues; ensuring a go-forward process is in place
Build business cases to support account resolution
Drives process improvements by proactively identifying issues and implementing solutions
Provides subject matter expertise and support functions to other departments or projects, and performs other duties as may be assigned
Adherence to daily targets and departmental objectives

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Business Administration
2 years’ experience in a collections or related role; Railroad or transportation experience is an asset
High proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
SAP system (ECC & S4) knowledge is an asset
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills with a proven ability to deliver results
Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
Effective communicator both verbal and written with both internal and external contacts at all levels
Ability to critically think through complex problems and offer solutions
Strong situational awareness

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
