Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food handling and preparation, with a passion for delivering high-quality meat products to our customers. As a Meat Cutter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our meat department operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.

Duties

Perform meat cutting and trimming tasks according to company standards and customer specifications.
Ensure all meat products are prepared, packaged, and labeled accurately for display.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat preparation area in compliance with food safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels of meat products and report any shortages or discrepancies to management.
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their meat selections and answering any questions they may have.
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while handling knives and other equipment.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in the food industry, specifically in meat cutting or as a butcher is essential.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Excellent food handling skills with an emphasis on cleanliness and sanitation.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed.
A passion for quality food preparation and an eagerness to learn new techniques.
