Ballycastle Distributors Ltd. is a family-owned Winnipeg manufacturer of custom cabinetry, architectural millwork and thermofoil doors, proudly serving the Manitoba market since 1976.

We have recently moved into a larger facility and significantly expanded our manufacturing capabilities. We are looking for an experienced Business Development & Sales Manager to help us take the next step in our growth.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced sales professional who understands the construction and millwork industry and has established relationships with builders, developers, general contractors, designers, architects and other industry professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, building customer relationships, identifying new project opportunities and growing profitable sales. You will work directly with ownership and closely with our estimating, design and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop new business and expand Ballycastle's customer base
Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, developers, general contractors, designers and architects
Identify upcoming residential, commercial and multifamily projects
Generate, develop and follow up on new sales opportunities
Meet with customers to understand their project requirements
Review drawings, specifications and project requirements
Work with our estimating team to develop competitive and profitable proposals
Present proposals, negotiate and close contracts
Maintain strong customer communication from initial opportunity through project completion
Participate in site visits and preliminary field measurements when required
Represent Ballycastle at industry events and networking opportunities
Maintain an organized sales pipeline and provide regular updates on opportunities

This position is primarily focused on business development, sales and customer relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with our internal estimating, design and production teams and will not be expected to personally perform all drafting, shop drawings or manufacturing functions.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3 years of proven sales or business development experience with responsibility for $1 million or more in annual sales
Experience in millwork, cabinetry, architectural millwork, construction materials or a related industry
Established relationships within the construction and development industry
Strong network of builders, developers, general contractors, designers and/or architects
Demonstrated ability to develop new business and close profitable projects
Strong understanding of construction and project requirements
Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
Excellent communication, negotiation and closing skills
Strong organizational and follow-up abilities
Self-motivated, professional and entrepreneurial approach
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a strong internal team

Experience with commercial and multifamily projects is strongly preferred.
