About The Access Store
The Access Store is a Winnipeg-based medical supply and mobility company celebrating 30 years of serving Manitobans.
We specialize in products and solutions that help people living with disabilities, spinal cord injuries and mobility challenges maintain their health, independence and quality of life.
We are a small, established business where customer relationships matter. Many of our customers rely on us every month for important medical supplies.
We are looking for a dependable, organized and caring person to take responsibility for an important part of our day-to-day customer service and order fulfillment.
The Position
This is a permanent part-time position combining customer service, medical-supply order processing, shipping/receiving and inventory support.
A major focus of the position is looking after our repeat medical-supply customers. You'll become familiar with their needs, help process their regular orders and make sure those orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.
This is not a sales-focused position. It is an important operational role for someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, reliability and providing excellent customer service.
What You'll Do
Your responsibilities will include:
- Answering phones and responding to routine customer inquiries
- Processing medical-supply orders by phone, email and in person
- Reviewing customer order history and assisting with repeat orders
- Entering and processing orders using our computer systems
- Picking, checking, packing and shipping customer orders
- Preparing orders for customer pickup and delivery
- Receiving incoming inventory and putting stock away
- Helping maintain accurate and organized inventory
- Monitoring routine order issues, shortages and backorders
- Developing knowledge of our commonly ordered medical supplies
- Building relationships with our regular customers
- Working with suppliers and other staff when necessary to complete customer orders
- Maintaining an organized shipping, receiving and supply-order area
- Recognizing problems and taking initiative to resolve them or involve the appropriate team member
Product and systems training will be provided.
Who We're Looking For
We're more interested in finding the right person for our team than the perfect résumé.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Are extremely dependable and punctual
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Genuinely enjoy helping people
- Are patient and comfortable communicating with customers
- Are comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Are organized and able to manage several orders and priorities
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Take ownership of your work and follow tasks through to completion
- Notice when something doesn't look right and take action
- Enjoy developing relationships with regular customers
- Work cooperatively as part of a small team
Experience in customer service, medical supplies, pharmacy, healthcare, shipping/receiving, retail, order processing or administration would be an asset but is not required.
Experience with QuickBooks Online is also an asset.
Schedule
Approximately 20–25 hours per week, primarily during regular weekday business hours.
We are looking for someone interested in stable, ongoing part-time employment who can become a consistent and dependable member of our team.
The exact schedule can be discussed with the successful candidate.
Why Join The Access Store?
Our customers aren't simply order numbers. Many have been with us for years and depend on the products we provide as part of their everyday lives.
