Front Desk Agent – Full Time
Guaranteed 32 Hours per Week
Explorer Hotel
Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
The Explorer Hotel is seeking a friendly, professional, and customer focused Front Desk Agent to join our team on a full time basis, with a guarantee of 32 hours per week. This is a highly people facing role suited for individuals who take pride in delivering excellent guest experiences in a fast paced hospitality environment.

Position Summary
The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a key role in shaping their overall experience. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and confidence using hotel systems, particularly reservation based platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
Perform guest check ins and check outs accurately
Handle room reservations, modifications, cancellations, and billing inquiries
Operate and maintain property management and reservation systems
Respond to guest requests, questions, and concerns with professionalism and care
Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and the Yellowknife area
Process payments, balance transactions, and follow cash handling procedures
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments as needed
Maintain accurate guest records and daily logs
Support overall front desk operations to ensure smooth daily workflow

Qualifications & Skills

Previous customer service experience is required; hotel or hospitality experience is a strong asset
Experience with reservation based or customer service computer systems preferred (PMS experience an asset)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable in a people facing, service oriented role
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Reliable, professional, and team oriented
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Schedule

Full time position
Guaranteed minimum of 32 hours per week
Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
