Kinsol Timber Systems is a leader in the design and construction of timber structures, from craft joinery to tall wooden buildings. We are growing and looking to add an experienced Journeyman Carpenter Foreman/woman to our team in support of the execution of our work, both here on the Island and elsewhere.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Journeyman Carpenter Foreman:
● Supervise a crew of up to 10 carpenters, apprentices, and labourers.
● Lead and train your crew for required tasks.
● Provide direction to, and resolve problems amongst, your crew.
● Physically lift up to 50lbs throughout an 8hr workday
● Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
● Ensure that crew is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work.
● Read blueprints and understand how they relate to contracted scope
● Identify areas of work that are outside of contracted scope.
● Identify deficient work, document, and provide resolution.
● Perform job progress and completion punch list, identification and completion.
● Communicate with supervisor regarding schedule and crew performance
● Identify and report to supervisor any non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
● Communicate using the following tools: telephone, written or electronic logs, email, computer, mobile devices, digital camera, and construction software.
● Maintain daily logs of activities on the jobsite.
● Preside over daily crew meetings designed to coordinate the work.
● Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
