TransAlta General Duty Security Guard - Casual

Are you looking for a rewarding career in the security industry, where you can apply your amazing communication and de-escalation skills to help others? If so, Paladin Security may be the right fit for you! We are looking for friendly and confident Security Professionals!

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct tours (other than technical tours) for school and the general public
Manage switchboard, transfer calls and take messages
Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches, and note any concerns
Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
De-escalate crisis situations, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire and paramedic resources
Conduct vehicle and personal searches
Escort staff to restricted areas after hours
Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability and day to day reports
Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
Handle Lost & Found items and inquires

Job Requirements: • Currently hold a valid Alberta Security license, or have the ability to obtain one

A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Excellent customer service skills

Strong observational skills and attention to detail
Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
Ability to walk 18/20km and stairs
Authorized to legally work in Canada
