The No Sugar Company is looking for a sharp, commercially minded Trade Analyst who loves turning data into decisions.
This is not a back-office reporting role. You’ll work closely with our Sales, Finance, and Marketing teams to help shape how we invest across one of our most important retail partnerships, Costco, using sales performance, syndicated data, promotional results, and store-level insights to determine where we invest, where we pull back, and where the biggest opportunities exist.
You’ll play a key role in managing and optimizing a $10M+ trade budget, tracking promotional performance, supporting demonstration strategy through Club Demonstration Services (CDS), and helping the business get smarter about where and how we spend.
The initial focus will be heavily weighted toward Costco across multiple regions and markets. Over time, the role may expand to support other major retail customers, including Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Metro, Loblaws, Aldi, H-E-B, and others.
If you enjoy digging into the numbers, spotting patterns others miss, and turning complex data into clear commercial recommendations, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Do:
Turn Data Into Commercial Decisions
- Analyze Costco sales, shopper, and syndicated data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance gaps
- Use Circana/IRI and customer data to determine where demo support is needed, and where it is not, to help maintain or improve sales thresholds
- Identify underperforming regions, warehouses, and SKUs and recommend clear actions
- Build weekly and monthly performance reporting for Costco and other key retail accounts
- Create and maintain dashboards that make performance easy to understand and act on
- Monitor category trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities
Manage and Optimize Trade Investment
- Support the management and optimization of a $10M+ trade budget
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date trade accruals across Costco regions globally
- Track customer trade budgets, promotional funding, claims, deductions, and accruals
- Evaluate promotional performance, including lift, ROI, volume impact, and alignment with national and regional objectives
- Reconcile trade spend, deductions, and accruals in partnership with Finance
- Flag risks, overspend, underinvestment, and opportunities to reallocate funding
Drive Demonstration Strategy
- Use store-level and regional sales performance to recommend where demonstrations should be deployed
- Book and manage CDS and internal demonstrations based on sales trends, distribution gaps, promotional activity, and commercial priorities
- Evaluate demo effectiveness and help determine where future investment will generate the strongest return
- Partner with the Sales team to connect demonstration strategy directly to volume and performance objectives
Partner Across the Business
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Marketing on annual, seasonal, and customer-specific trade planning
- Translate complex data into practical recommendations for commercial leaders
- Support forecasting, planning, and performance reviews
- Help build stronger tools, processes, and reporting as the business continues to grow
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in CPG, retail analytics, trade marketing analytics, sales analytics, revenue management, or a similar commercial role
- Experience supporting Costco and/or other major retail accounts
- Strong hands-on experience with Circana/IRI, syndicated data, and customer performance reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, and dashboard reporting
- Experience managing or supporting trade spend, promotional funding, deductions, accruals, claims, and forecasting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to move from data to recommendation
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across Sales, Finance, and Marketing
Strong Assets
- Experience coordinating CDS demonstrations and understanding Costco field operations
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools
- Experience with SAP, TPM systems, or other ERP platforms
- Experience working across multiple regions, markets, or major retail customers
Who Will Thrive Here
You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:
- Are naturally curious and want to understand the “why” behind the numbers
- Can take a large, messy dataset and find the story in it
- Think commercially, not just analytically
- Care about ROI and want to see how your recommendations affect real sales performance
- Are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
- Enjoy building better tools and processes rather than simply maintaining what already exists
- Can move comfortably between detailed analysis and high-level business recommendations
