We're excited to add a full-time Mental Health Clinician (MHC) to our team at the Edmonton Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic,. Reporting to the Care Manager, the MHC works as part of a multidisciplinary team which includes Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Peer Support, Social Work, and Addiction Medicine Physicians. The RAAM Clinic provides timely, low-barrier access to addiction medicine and mental health services, supporting clients transitioning from acute care and Emergency Departments into the community. The MHC provides client centered and goal oriented care in alignment with the Recovery Alberta Recovery Model. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, including risk assessment, development and implementation of care plans, coordination of services, supports and treatment within Addictions and Mental Health (AMH), case management and monitoring client outcomes. The role requires a strong understanding of addiction medicine and the continuum of care, including Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT), Narcotic Transition Services (NTS), detox, and bed-based addiction services. Knowledge of AMH referral pathways and system navigation is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, effective communication and de-escalation skills, and proficiency with virtual platforms and electronic documentation systems. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a master's degree in psychology; a bachelor's degree in social work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention; a master's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy with similar educational components; a bachelor's degree in nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling; or a bachelor's degree in psychiatric nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant addiction and mental health experience providing crisis intervention, preferably in a community setting and with marginalized and inner-city populations. Working knowledge around current Addiction Medicine practices, Addiction resources and relationships with relevant partners and stakeholders is an asset. Formal clinical training in triage, intervention, stabilization and case management is key. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments. Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. Comprehensive understanding and practice with recovery model, the stages of change and trauma informed care. Interpersonal, organizational and assertive, tactful, effective, caring and nonjudgmental communication skills. Able to maintain effective working relationships within interdisciplinary team and stakeholders. Can work independently while maintaining high levels of collaboration with numerous teams. Can adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads and work conditions. accountability, reliability, critical thinking, leadership and problem-solving skills. Responsive to new needs in the role as they arise, with initiative, self-directedness and inclusion of others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Skilled in bio psychosocial interventions and supports will be given preference. Punctuality, attendance and time integrity are important. Demonstrated positive and solution focused point of view. English language proficiency required. Willingness and enthusiasm to lead within the team and help continuous adaptaption and growth to meet the needs of the Clinic and those it serves. Excitement to help build and grow new Addiction services in Edmonton and share learnings with others.
