Full job description

Location: 1265 Jefferson Ave, Winnipeg

Kitchen assistant

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

Multitask and work in a fast paced environment
Assist in the preparation of frying food, steaming food, hotdogs and cutting chicken.
Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including washing dishes, cleaning countertops, and sanitizing equipment.
Support food service operations by ensuring that all necessary ingredients and supplies are readily available.
Follow proper food handling techniques to ensure the safety and quality of all food items.
Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations throughout all kitchen processes.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service.
Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and reporting shortages as needed.
Packing take out and handing out food to customers

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred
Must be able to communicate in English.
Must have a valid social insurance number and be able to work legally in Canada
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is a plus.
Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is beneficial.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in the culinary field.
Be available evenings and weekends
