Full job description

BMC Minerals (www.bmcminerals.com) is a private company registered in British Columbia, with offices in Perth Australia and Vancouver Canada. BMC is engaged in the assessment, acquisition and development of metals projects which the management team believe to be truly capable of maintaining robust economics and long term social sustainability. The company’s prime focus is the KZK project (http://kudzzekayah.com/) located approximately 125 km southeast of the community of Ross River, Yukon. The Project is an advanced stage poly metallic deposit which the company is currently advancing through permitting for production.

BMC is currently looking for a full time Senior Geologist to be based on site and in our Vancouver office. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exploration and geological studies are executed in the field efficiently and with a high level of geological rigour. In addition, the successful candidate will be called on for general project management and contractor supervision. Based on the current size of the company and advanced stage of the project there is significant opportunity for the successful candidate and the position to grow and evolve with the company.

The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, a passion for mineral exploration and be able to function in both field and office environments. Previous experience with GIS software is required.

Responsibilities

· Assist in the design, planning and implementation of exploration activities;

· Management of staff, contractors & consultants in the field;

· Liaise with other technical disciplines including engineering, environmental and metallurgical staff;

· Preparation of technical and other reports as may be required from time to time;

· Preparation of budgets and forecasts and implementation of cost-control measures;

· Management of mineral tenure and related licenses and permits;

· Site based activities that are consistent with your level of technical and practical expertise as required from time to time;

· Provide input and implementation of company Health, Safety, Environment and Community protocols.

Requirements, Experience and Qualifications

· Current eligibility to work in Canada;

· 8+ years’ experience in base or precious metal mineral exploration;

· Eligible to be registered with APEGBC;

· A post-secondary degree in Geology or Earth Sciences;

· Exploration project management experience;

· A track record of increasing responsibility and influence on exploration programs.
