Content Creator: A Reel Master!

Social Status is a social media management and ads agency working mostly with yoga studios, plus a handful of other small businesses — cafes, spas, boutique fitness studios, you name it. We're fun, fast, a little sassy, and genuinely allergic to content that's just "fine."

We're looking for a contract content creator who can take the content we already have — photos, video, whatever's sitting in the folder — and turn it into fun reels and carousels that actually look on-brand, impactful, and engaging. Not generic. Not stock-footage energy. Theirs.

What you WILL be doing:

Be a reel-making machine (and a carousel queen), that's the job.
Going through the content we already have (in Google Drive and iCloud) for a client and building reels for what's coming up on the content calendar
Building Canva carousels from existing content and our post guidelines/calendar/what's needed
Thinking 6 months out — we want a bank of great reels and carousels building up, not a last-minute scramble every week
Taking a loose concept and just running with it — we're not handing you an SOP on how to create each reel

What you WON'T be doing:

Strategy
Filming/capturing content for clients
Scheduling or posting content
Managing or talking to clients directly
Long-form video content or extensive video editing
Creating Emmy award winning, intricately detailed, highly curated content.

What we need from you:

A real eye for what looks good together — pacing, transitions, knowing what footage belongs with what
Experience with yoga. Most of our clients are yoga studios and it's very important that you know what the postures are, and can understand the classes. A little context and connection to what you're creating goes a long way. We work closely with both OG Hot Yoga and Vinyasa studios, so bonus points if you know the difference between Half Moon in each class style
Understand our clients and their business and whose content is whose and what's what
Confident editing reels in CapCut (or whatever you edit fastest in) and making carousels in Canva (using brand kits)
Actual experience editing reels, short-form content and carousels — we're not training from zero
Know how to share audio for IG (when applicable)
Know how to import/export from Google Drive and iCloud
Have an iPhone/Mac for iCloud photo/album sharing — and have available storage

Good for you to know:

We already have a butt-ton of content from our clients. We avoid sending out extensive shot lists every month. We work remotely and aspire to take this OFF their plate, not add more to it. So when keeping trends in mind, we want to do things that don't always require something new from clients. Some is fine, but getting everything new is not.
This isn't about heavily produced, transition-loaded reels. We're going for simple, clean, and effective — not a 15-layer edit for every single post—if you tend to take hours to put one Reel/post together, this is not the gig for you.

Nice to have:

You know your way around Slack (this is where all our internal communication happens)
Understand the value of trending audio and content — figuring out which trends we can actually pull off with the content we already have, no new filming required (remember, you have a boatload of content to use)
When a client can get us fresh footage for a fun, simple trend, either share it with our account manager or tell us exactly what shots we'd need to nail a specific trend
If you're also a copywriter — unicorn alert, please tell us! We're not anti-AI as a tool, but we are not fans of AI-sounding copy, so this only counts if you can actually write and know how to caption your content properly and thoughtfully.
