The Organization:

Since 1955, LutherCare Communities has been a leader in providing programs, services, and housing to residents across Saskatchewan with the highest quality of care and support.

Our team members provide caring services to residents and clients throughout Saskatchewan in our Seniors Independent Living Communities, Intermediate Care Homes, Long-Term Care, Group Homes for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, and programs like the Seniors Day Program and the Luther Seniors Centre.

The Position:

In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LutherCare Communities, we are seeking a Community Service Worker to join our Group Home team. Applicants will be responsible for the personal care and safety of clients and for the implementation of individual lifestyle plans.

Duties and Responsibilities of Group Home Workers include three main areas:

Resident Care – Includes assistance of personal hygiene (bathing, toileting, dressing, eating etc.)
Resident Programming – Includes the facilitation of resident daily living activities and participation in the community.
Home Maintenance – Includes housekeeping, laundry and the preparation of meals and snacks

Employment Type: Permanent, Part-Time

Hours of Work: shall average Twenty Two (22) hours per week averaged over a two (2) week period.

Wage: This position starts at $17.4939 per hour.

The Applicants:

Applicants would typically qualify for this position through the completion of a grade 12 education with previous experience working with adults with cognitive and physical disabilities in a residential setting. A Disability Support Worker (Rehabilitation Worker) course, Special Care Aide course or equivalent education is preferred. Food Safe Certificate is required, sign language is desirable. The incumbent must complete Basic Skills Training as provided by LCC. Applicants must be available to work shifts that include days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Applicants must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to interpret, read, write and speak English fluently.

Below are the certifications that are considered an asset and/or requirement:

TLR (Transfer, Lifting & Repositioning) is considered an asset
PART (Professional Assault Response Training) is considered an asset
First Aid and CPR is considered an asset
Personal Support Worker course is considered an asset
Food Safe Certificate is required
