Finance Specialist
Montage Development Consultants is seeking a Finance Specialist to support the team with project finance, funding applications, draw/progress claim management, financial reporting, and related financial coordination across development and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Modeling
Prepare, update, and maintain detailed financial models and project pro formas.
Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess project viability and financial outcomes.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support development decisions.
Project Financing & Draw Management
Manage the financial draw process for active projects, including preparation of draw packages and coordination with lenders.
Track project budgets, cash flows, and financing requirements to ensure compliance with funding agreements.
Maintain accurate records of project expenditures and funding sources.
Funding & Grants
Assist with the preparation of grant applications and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with funding agencies and stakeholders to track requirements and ensure timely submissions.
Monitor funding commitments, reporting obligations, and disbursements.
Financial Reporting & Presentations
Prepare and deliver financial presentations, cash flow summaries, and performance reports for clients, investors, and lenders.
Provide clear, concise financial data to support internal decision-making and external stakeholder communications.
Support reporting requirements for boards, committees, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Consultant, Client & Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to incorporate cost and funding considerations into project planning.
Serve as a financial liaison between the Montage team, clients, and external stakeholders.
Participate in client and project meetings, presenting financial information and recommendations.
Strategic Planning & Risk Management
Partner with senior leadership to develop strategic business plans and support decision-making with financial insights.
Identify financial risks and opportunities, and recommend strategies to mitigate risks.
Develop and monitor key financial metrics to assess organizational performance.
Funding Applications and Management — Development
Lead submission of funding applications for development projects.
Streamline application process and claim submission workflow.
Organize and update project costs and project statements based on optimized systems and workflows.
Perform ad hoc pro forma analysis for development projects.
Ensure funding applications are submitted and secured for projects.
Further improve systems and workflows for PO tracking and cash flow management reports for clients.
Manage funding application schedules and provide calendar updates to staff.
General Support & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the overall success of Montage projects by supporting project managers and development staff with financial expertise.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting tools.
Assist with other related tasks as required to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience in finance, accounting, project finance, real estate development, construction financing, or a related field
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
- Experience with budgets, cash flow tracking, funding applications, draw packages, progress claims, or financial reporting is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, lenders, and funding agencies
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA is considered an asset, but not required
Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, with some in-office work required.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience.
Pay: $7,000.00-$11,000.00 per month
