Full job description

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated hospitality professional to join our team as a Cook at Outback Steakhouse, located near Clifton Hill on Victoria Avenue!

Responsibilities:

Preparing and portioning of food items prior to cooking
Plating and garnishing cooked items.
Maintaining a sanitary kitchen workstation.
Ability to prepare food for consumption with background knowledge of proper techniques and equipment to be used.
Completing assigned opening/closing duties.
Having a thorough knowledge of all menu items.
Preparing and cooking menu items.
Maintaining cleanliness and safety of all food procedures of the kitchen and reporting any discrepancies.
Having a thorough knowledge of all menu items.
Practicing kitchen safety in the area and while using all equipment.
All other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in a kitchen.
Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling techniques is highly desirable.
Great multitasking and time management skills.
Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and possess good problem-solving skills.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Commitment to succeed in a team-orientated environment.
Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
