Live and work in gorgeous Algonquin Park, Ontario

Arowhon Pines is an all-inclusive resort open spring, summer, and fall, located in the middle of Algonquin Park, in the province of Ontario.  Algonquin Park is a large nature and wildlife preserve, 3 hours from Toronto or Ottawa. Guests from all over the world visit and return, to enjoy a truly Canadian experience.

Each season we hire a team of positive, outgoing, and friendly people who share our values of confidence, authenticity, warmth and humility.   We all agree to pay attention to the teaching that happens to become part of an awesome team whose priority is to provide a memorable holiday for guests.   

You will live and work inside gorgeous Algonquin Park and make many new friends.  Accommodation and meals are provided on the grounds for a charge of $ 80/week.  You will have a private renovated room with private bathroom.  Three meals per day are served in our lakeside staff dining room.  Staff enjoy their own dock by the lake, swim in Little Joe Lake, canoe, kayak, SUP board, hike trails to see moose and other animals, fish, relax in the staff lounge and around the bonfire.  You will have access to WIFI.  There are staff events and movie nights.

We accept foreign applications however you must have legal permission to work in Canada.   

Contract: Full-time, Seasonal, 5 months - Mid May – Mid Oct

Wage: $25.00 per hour - 40 to 50 hour work week.

Room and Meals: $80 per week. Working couples welcome – there are larger rooms for $60/week

Job Summary

Cleaning and sanitizing crockery, cutlery, and glassware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment, and general cleaning duties in the kitchen.

Responsible for maintaining the dish and pot stations in a clean and hygienic manner, following the procedures and systems laid down by the company.

Help receive goods and products and ensure quality.

Energetic, good work ethic, heavy lifting required.

Daily washing of all crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking equipment.

Daily maintenance and cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, and counters, removal of all garbage and recycling at specified times throughout the day.

Thorough cleaning of the stations after service is complete.

Key Responsibilities

Wash, sanitize, and store all crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
Maintain dishwashing and pot-wash stations in a clean, organized, and hygienic manner throughout service.
Complete daily cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, counters, and work areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
Remove garbage, compost, and recycling at scheduled times and keep waste areas clean and orderly.
Assist with receiving deliveries, checking product quality, and storing goods appropriately.
Support the kitchen team by responding efficiently to service demands and maintaining a steady supply of clean equipment.
Follow Arowhon procedures, clean schedules, and health and safety guidelines consistently.
Perform thorough end-of-day cleaning of assigned stations after service.
Carry out physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, safely, and effectively.
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism as part of a collaborative kitchen team.

Willingness to Learn – Open to training, takes direction well, and is eager to learn proper cleaning, safety, and kitchen procedures.
Strong Work Ethic – Ready for hands-on, physical work and able to stay focused and positive during busy service periods.
Attention to Cleanliness – Understands the importance of hygiene and takes pride in keeping work areas clean and organized.
Team-Oriented Attitude – Works cooperatively with others, communicates respectfully, and contributes to a supportive kitchen environment.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
